Pictures: Galveston island horses rescued by Habitat for Horses

The horses seized by the Galveston police department are now at our rehabilitation center. They are being well cared for by our staff and volunteers. Medical needs are being met.  Shelter, water …all the things these horses need to bring them back to health are now available. And we have *you*, our supporters to thank for saving and healing lives. Shown below are some lovely photos of the horses from the Galveston Island seizure that Jerry Finch, President of Habitat for Horses, took.

Awesome Photos JF, What I noticed in all the different horses while viewing was , what their eyes were saying, everyon of them has the very same stare, as if to say I have been through horrors that i will never be able to share or to tell you about , but now I know I am safe and in very capable loving hands here, and i know I will be the horse I was meant to be because of the caretakers that are here, the next time you photograph me I will show how I have progressed through the Love of the people who now surround me with caring and nourchering hearts, I know now and remember now how it is to be Free and Loved……..

  • What I can’t believe is how they were able to get this bad before something was done about it! Why didn’t the police do something sooner! I know that the horses were kept in plain view! Shame on the authorities! Thank you Habitat for Horses!
