Horses rescued from flooded field in Barford

Firefighters rescued a team of horses from high flood water in Barford on Sunday morning.

A group of four animals were found marooned in a field off Bridge Street on February 7, with two more later found trapped by the rising flood water.

Warwickshire Fire and Rescue crews from Gaydon were called in by the RSPCA, and arrived along with the specialist Large Animal Rescue Unit from Rugby.

Four horses were led to safety, but two others were trapped on the other side of the high waters

Firefighters waded through the water using wading poles to reach the pair, where head collars and lead ropes were fitted to help lead the animals to safety.
