Donating monthly ensures that rescued horses will keep receiving the care they need.
There are a variety of volunteering opportunities for anyone interested in helping Habitat for Horses with their mission. Any adult, experienced with horses or not, can help us at our ranches located just south of Houston. Ranch work, construction, fund raising and more! Even a few hours a month will make a difference in the lives of horses recovering from abuse and neglect.
The best way to Champion a rescued horse is to adopt one! There are about 200 horses to choose from. There are companion horses who love to pal around with other pasture buddies, horses that are ready to ride or need just a refresher, horses that need an experienced hand to show them everything from the ground work on up, to donkeys and minis that are as cute as can be. We would love to show you all of them!
Placing Habitat for Horses in your will is an excellent way to provide for the care and protection of horses in the future. You can name Habitat for Horses as a direct beneficiary or as a contingent beneficiary in the event that an originally designated beneficiary does not survive you.
New to the Habitat for Horses gift store is our very own “The Horse at Home” Coffee Table book, full of wonderful prose and pictures of Habitat for Horses rescued equine! Also be sure to check out both the 2014 calendar and our Memorial Bricks. Each brick will be customized to display whatever you wish to memorialize or commemorate – be it your best horse pal or a family member who loves horses.
Possibly the easiest way to donate is by shopping for groceries. Krogers Grocery Store has a gift giving program where they donate a percentage from the amount your paid for shopping for groceries to Habitat for Horses. With stores in over 30 states, Krogers is one of the largest retail grocery chains in the company.
