comparisonWe've heard all the excuses for the neglect and abuse, the slavery and slaughter of horses that we ever want to hear. The myths supported by those who make money from the bodies have never been sustained when the real facts are known. We strongly support those organizations that are fighting to close down the urine collection factories and the slaughterhouses and will add our voice to their efforts. Our main goal is to educate those who abuse and neglect horses and to offer an alternative - placing the horse in a safe, secure environment.

Rescues are not just limited to removing horses from abusive and life-threatening situations and placing them in new homes. We must deal with legal documentation, going to court and attempting to overcome serious medical and psychological problems that might make the seized horses unfit for re-integration back into the general population. Placing weight on a skinny, starved horse takes a lot of time, effort and skill. The physical and psychological rehabilitation often takes around six months before the horse can be considered “healthy”.

Rehabilitation takes place not only at the ranch, but also at the almost 100 volunteer foster homes scattered throughout Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma. If you would like to be a part of the rehabilitation network, please contact us.
