Tinker Belle Breed: Miniature Horse DOB: 2003 Skill: Program Horse
Belle was surrendered to Habitat when her owners realized she was lonely without any other horses in her life. Weaned and separated from her Mom at six-months of age, she lived in a suburban back yard alone, for 1 1/2 years. Belle began crying out, whinnying constantly searching for her own kind. When she started eating the brick off the house they knew something had to be done and called Habitat.
Belle is our sweet little Education and Outreach pony. Belle has been to several events, picnics and fairs and is always a big attraction for one so small. Children love to get their picture taken with her and they ask a lot of questions. We tell them what she eats and when, if she can be ridden or not, and how sad Belle was to be alone - that horses like to be with other horses. She loves to get cookies and give kisses.
