Caspian is a handsome flea-bitten grey Quarter Horse/Arabian mix who blends in well with a herd. He is a very sweet boy who is easy to load and trailers well. Caspian also has good ground manners and seems to enjoy having someone ride. You will need a feed bucket to catch him but he is easy to halter and lead and will stand still for the farrier. He will need additional riding time to re-learn and polish off his riding skills. With a little more time under the saddle, Caspian will become a great trail or general pleasure riding horse! June / July Training Evaluations:
In June, during a Western training session, he refused a Tom Thumb or snaffle bit but did respond to “D” ring. He was a little rusty during his riding session but did not bite, buck or rear. With persistence, Caspain will do what you request. He accepted the saddle and cinching but had a little difficulty with bits. He needs re-training on keeping his feet up when asking for them.
In July, Caspain used a Tom Thumb bit while training in Western style but did fight it. He stood while mounting and after being ridden for a while, Caspian did settle in and do much better.
July 21st, 2015: We rode English (D-ring) and Caspian seemed more responsive. He was somewhat reluctant to back and stopped in refusal, but we saw improvement in that he was quicker to get out of it.
