Are these people for real????? Shame on them. Teach your kids that having fun whilst abusing an animal is a OK. Would they still feel the same if some strangers were pulling their little darlings around?!?!?!?

Do you think this will be stopped? Folks in TX can be very stubborn and if this event is for a ‘Charity’ it will be that much harder to stop it. Very depressing.

This would stop only if enough people speak out in protest. So far, only a few people have bothered to pick up the phone and make a call. It’s easy to comment, more difficult to speak out.

I will call them in the morning for sure. I had intended to do so because I cannot stand any form of abuse to any animal at all. Thanks for posting the details.

The principal wrote me back and said they weren’t participating in this. I don’t know if that means it’s been canceled or if it’s been relocated. As Magnolia is so small, there’s not a lot of venues that could take over.

I phoned both Linda Stuckey and Diana Trim.

After telling Linda Stuckey that some of the people I was representing and myself in Arizona view the donkey basketball as something a sick person would initiate as it subjects the donkeys to stress plus the weight of those big men on their backs could hurt them. Also told her that Charlie Riley doesn’t deserve a seat as a commissioner with this display of his character.

She told me that he loves animals and that they are watching the weight limit on the donkey’s backs! She is as sick as he is!!!!!

With phoning Diana Trim, there was no answer to my call and I left basically the same message for her as I had told Linda Stuckey.

Guess the old saying still goes, “Birds of a feather flock together”!

Thank you for calling them. A lot of people object to donkey basketball, but very few actually care enough to pick up the phone and make the calls.

  • I called yesterday and left a message for Diana Trim, and also left a message for the principal at the Jr. High – unfortunately, I had the wrong number you first gave out. The poor woman at the High School was getting calls all day, and didn’t know anything about the event. She had called me back to let me know I called the wrong number. I was calling on my lunch at work and was unaware you had posted the corrected phone numbers until tonight. It’s too bad the calls were wasted in this way.
