Blame BLM Chief Neil Kornze, period

"Free Speech" zone during the Bundy confrontation

From: The Las Vegas Review Journal

Blame needs to placed all the way up to the top. Harry Reid pushed for Kornze to get the position and the nod was given all the way up to the Obama Administration. Talk about bungled! A “free speech” area will inflame anyone to anger. And it looks bad on the news. They should have just gone in and enforced the laws – quickly and be done with it. Instead it was mishandled and made to look like our government turns tail and flees from wealthy conservative ranchers. Mr. President – what are you going to do about this? ~ HfH

“Free Speech” zone during the Bundy confrontation

Let me start by saying that any kid from Elko gets a point from me. Right out of the chute.

So when Neil Kornze was appointed the new director of the Bureau of Land Management by the U.S. Senate, he got no guff from me or anyone in Nevada that I know of.

Some senators thought he was too young. But he worked for Sen. Harry Reid and that was enough to gain confirmation.

“Neil is just perfect for this position,” Reid said. “Raised in Elko, NV, Neil really understands the role of public lands in rural America, and natural resources across the West.”

Less than 14 days later, Kornze led a spectacularly botched roundup of “undocumented” cattle in Bunkerville. He charged in all Gen. Custer-like to the rural Nevada community, trying to enforce a federal order to stop rancher Cliven Bundy from grazing his cattle in the area without paying grazing fees.

Knowing he would encounter protesters, he even created a First Amendment area, which was not only unconstitutional it served to only aggravate matters.

Thank George Bush for the “Free Speech” Zones. He instituted that departure from the First Amendment.

I supppose being Chief of Staff qualifies a person to run a multi-billion agency – NOT! But then we eleced a man with ghost degrees to be President. It will come down to the man and woman on the street to regain this nation’s common sense and decency.

…he is going to do what he always does, and does best…..NOTHING!
whenever confronted with a problem, his only explanation is: “We’ll get to the bottom of this!” well….i can think of several problems, especially of late in world news….that we are still all waiting to hear what his ‘bottom’ is! so far there is nothing there!
so….b/c this is all for the great gov and money….don’t think ole Reed will get anything other then a pay raise and a pat on the back for his great deed!

  • As I look at these responses…One is blaming Bush and the other Obama…….this has been going on for years….Blame ourselves for allowing this to happen..time to take a stand……Call our Senators and tell them how you feel and stop eating beef….hurt them where it really hurts…

I did stop eating dead cows, Marilyn. I have been writing Senators, Congressmen an BLM. But it was Bush who brought in “free speech zones” which the Right was applauding for those pesky anti Iraq War protestors.

Bush, Bush, Bush! for cripes sake….he hasn’t been in office for almost 7 yrs now. if he did this and that and all the other stuff he has and is still being blamed for….then why hasn’t the great democrats and present prez re-righted those ‘bads’ he made way back then? surely all this time has given the present administration time to do something about all those ‘bads’…don’t ya think! i am an independent, not democrat or republican….not left or right…..but i get so tired of hearing everything blamed on Bush….this prez has done that throughout his terms! its the NOW administration to make the NOW right….don’t pass the buck to someone yrs ago….put your man-pants on bud, and manup if its wrong, fix it! don’t blame everyone else! its the NOW time to help these horses….stop pissing and moaning about a prez thats been out of office for almost 7 yrs…its the NOW time for this prez to do something besides blame others and mumble condescending remarks to passify the people without doing anything to really solve the problem at hand!
its time to blame the ones really to blame….and Reed wasn’t on the Bush team!
