Miss Thistle Lady taught me so much that year. Missy, as we called he,r was my trainer's pony who was the lesson pony. The year I started riding her she developed a minor cough that got worse as 2003 wore on. We all blamed it on bad hay and so she got no more of it to eat. As you can see, I won Reserve Champion on her in 2003. Another girl moved up to her the next year but had to quit riding her mid-year because of the coughing.

Missy was diagnosed with a lung problem, her lungs had quit expanding when she breathed wich made it hard to even take one breath. Mrs. Marlo put missy out in the pasture to be happy. Many days as i came to ride my new pony, i would see Missy wandering the barnyard. I can still see her when i go out there because it's like she never died. Missy died laying down under a tree. We think it was a heart attack. Whatever the problem, I will always love her because of the love she showed me in her last years. Even as a 14 yr old i cry as i tell you this story. She lived to be 22 and had many memories within those years.
