Feather
Breed:
Grade

Mare
DOB: 1988
Height:
14.1 hh
Color: Sorrel
Markings:
Arrival date:
2008
Location:
Pflugerville, TX
Adoption Fee:
Temperament:
Calm and sweet.
Physical problems / health issues:
Feather is thin, but
bouncing back quickly
At one point, she had a
head injury that caused
some mild facial
atrophy. When you
look at her “straight
on”, you can see that
one side of her face is
not exactly the same
size as the other.
However, you have to
look hard to notice
this.
Interaction with horses:
Middle of the herd.
Has been seen to kick at
another horse at feeding
time, but not with the
intent to make contact.
Interaction with people:
Super sweet and
re-learning that people
are nice to be around.
History:
Feather was abandoned
and donated to Habitat
for horses
Training
/ abilities:
Not yet known.
Experience level required to work with this horse:
Has this horse ever:
Bucked? Reared?
Kicked? Not at
people. Only
as a threat to another
horse that got too close
to her feed bucket.
Bitten?
Other?
Ground handling:
Catch? Yes
Lead? Yes Tie? Yes
Trailer? Yes Clip? Trim Feet? Yes
Bathe? Yes
Special needs:
Right now, just calories
and calm, loving people.
Feather was named “White
Feather” because she has
very light colored hair
on the backs of her
legs.
It looks like
“feathers”. We had
no idea of the hair
color difference when we
first got her because
she was so dirty it was
hard to tell what color
she really was.
Other comments: Feather
is a
real
sweetheart
and
bonds
closely
with
other
horses.
Right
now,
her
best
friend
is
Claudia.
They
walk
almost
in
tandem---they
are
like
shadows
of
each
other.
