Uno is gentle but
energetic.

Uno continues in rehab
to gain weight.
Interaction with horses:
Not aggressive, low to
mid herd standing.
Friendly towards new
horses. Currently
pastured with a blind
gelding and an older
mare. He is lowest in
the herd. Occasionally
shows interest in other
horses across the fence
line, but shows no
aggression.
Interaction with people:
Gentle and calm with
people.
History:
Uno is a registered
Appendix Quarterhorse.
He has thoroughbred
breeding and was
intended for barrel
racing or to be a
contest horse. He was
donated to HfH when he
sustained a puncture
wound injury to his
right hock. He was also
very thin (Hennecke body
score 2) and is
currently gaining
weight. He is
significantly sway
backed. As he has
started his recovery, he
has shown more of his
temperament. He
displays food aggression
towards humans, most
likely because of being
starved. He is impatient
and pushy when moved
from his stall to
pasture each morning, as
he prefers not to be
stabled. This is
something that can be
dealt with with some
ground training.

Untested due to low
weight issues.

appear to be a child’s
horse at this time.

Uno occasionally has a
mild overstep and stifle
catches. Current on his
vaccinations and Coggins.
