Temperament: Smart, sensitive, sweet, wants to please, curious, somewhat pushy.

Interaction with horses: Runs with large mixed herd.  Plays well with others below him in status.  Nigel is a special friend.

Interaction with people: A little standoffish and prefers people take it slow and easy around him.  Used to have some fear of people but now enjoys hugs and pets.  Nervous when someone he does not know grabs at him.  Comes when called if he knows you.  His person will need to earn his trust and then it will be forever.

History: Donated in lieu of a law enforcement seizure.

Training / abilities: Will halter and lead and has had a saddle pad on his back.  He has the ability to be an excellent pony if someone will work with him.  The vet says he can carry a very small rider or possibly pull a cart with training.

Physical problems / health issues:  Spiro has a locking stifle on his right rear leg.  This will improve with exercise but will never completely disappear.  This was probably from a lack of nourishment and exercise in his formative years.  Spiro would do well in a place where he could walk all day long rather than being stalled for long periods of time.  His new person could help him by walking him backwards and doing hill work with him if hills are available.  No other health concerns.

Experience level required to work with this horse:  Intermediate.

Has this horse ever:  Bucked? Yes, in play Reared? Yes, when under pressure from people two years ago Kicked? Yes, when cornered years ago Bitten? Takes nips at hands when offered treats.  With work, this will disappear. Other?

Ground handling: Catch? Yes if you do it slowly Lead? Yes Tie? Yes Trailer? Yes but needs help getting in if no ramp is available Clip? Unknown Trim Feet? Yes, slowly and with lots of patience Bathe? Yes, loves it

Special needs:

Other comments: Wants to give his heart to someone who wants it.
