Lexus
Breed:
Peruvian Paso
Sex: Mare DOB:
1993
Height:
~15 hh
Color: Sorrel
Markings: Blaze,
Sock on LR Location:
Barry, TX
Adoption Fee:
$100
Temperament:
Lexus can be shy and
hard to catch if she is
not feeling particularly
good. She is an angel
once you have her on a
lead.
Physical problems /
health issues:
Lexus has arthritis in
all of her legs and is
on joint supplements to
keep her limber. She
had foundered on her
front hooves and they
went so long without
being trimmed that it
looked like she was on
skis. She has had
abscesses in the past
but appears to be over
them now. She does
better on sandy soil
rather than rocky
ground. She wouldn’t do
well at all in mud. She
benefits from natural
trims.
Interaction with horses:
Lexus is not dominant
and is at the bottom of
the pecking order in a
small herd. She was an
“aunt” to a newborn foal
and was the protector of
the foal.
Interaction with people:
Lexus loves people
although they can spook
her at times. She loves
treats and will stand
forever if you care to
brush and love on her.
History: Seized
by law enforcement and
turned over to HfH.
Training / abilities:
If she is motivated and
feels well, Lexus can
trot. Long trailer
rides make her sore. It
is also hard for her to
step down from a trailer
without a ramp. Having
a rider on her back
would be too painful for
her.
