Color: Chestnut
Markings: Blaze, 4 socks
Location
: Liverpool, TX

Temperament: Kami is very, very sweet.

Physical problems / health issues: She is gaining weight and doing great.

Interaction with horses: Kami is doing very well with the other horses. I eased her out with Lielah (they came together) and then with my herd of 5. She’s doing great. She just doesn’t like the two donkeys I have. She is very afraid of them for some unknown reason (monster with long ears!).

Interaction with people: Shy, but curious. Really wants to be around you.

History: Seized by law enforcement in Galveston County and awarded to Habitat for Horses due to neglect / abuse, her previous use is unknown.

Training / abilities: Unknown under saddle, but she leads well and will stand very still and face you.  Kami is small in size, so she'll be good for a very small adult or child. She doesn't seem to be spooky with the saddle on, but we haven't gotten on her yet.  Just ground work.

Experience level required to work with this horse: Experienced, you just need to be able to handle a youngster.

Has this horse ever:  Bucked? No. Reared? No. Kicked? No. Bitten? No. Other?

Ground handling: Catch? Yes. Lead? Yes. Tie? Yes. Trailer? Yes, she did great when evacuated for Hurricane Ike Clip? Trim Feet? Yes, did very well for her first time. Bathe? Yes, needs work, she still thinks the water is out to get her, but we are working on that. She probably never had a bath before.

Special needs: Just lots of love and patience.

Other comments: She is very curious, with a good trainer she should be a great horse.
