Temperament:
Bonita Rita is very
"skeptical" of people.
Rita has trust issues,
but is coming along
fairly well. We do not
plan to ride her until
her ground skills are
solid. She is becoming
easier to bring in from
their pasture, although
Snickers, her
pasturemate, usually
tries to "protect" Rita
from being caught.
Physical problems /
health issues:
None known.
Interaction with horses:
Getting along well in
her foster herd of 2
geldings, fellow HfH
mare, and a donkey. She
is pretty smart about
staying “out of the way”
of any skirmishes.
Interaction with people:
Distrustful until she
has experience with
someone. She is bonding
well with her foster,
Holly.
History: She was
donated when her owner
could not properly work
with her with her
"skepticism."
Training / abilities:
Bonita Rita has started
work under saddle as of
December 5, 2006. She
has come along well in
the round pen and
accepted the saddle
without concern on
December 12, 2006. Her
first ride was
uneventful with no
spook, buck or bolt.
She is going to make a
very nice horse!!
Her newest foster
home is taking their
time earning her trust
before riding her. Once
Rita is solid on the
ground, they will
address work under
saddle.
