Temperament: Autumn is a very sweet, well trained and cooperative mare. She does not act or look 18 years old.

Physical problems / health issues: When she was 4, she suffered a cracked sesamoid, but it healed and she's sound at all gaits.

Interaction with horses: She gets along fine with the gelding she is currently pastured with.

Interaction with people:

History: She was donated when her owner went off to college and no longer had enough time to spend with her. She felt that Autumn deserved a job and someone to adore her. She was very well taken care with this family. She was raced when younger, then retrained for pleasure. She's been used as a hunter/jumper, done some light dressage work and ridden western on trails. She's an all-around horse.

Training / abilities: Autumn is easy to handle on the ground, tacks up nicely with no issues. She was lunged before her first test ride to work off some energy and just to make sure she wouldn't be too frisky in the cool weather. She was good on the lunge line and knows voice commands. She was ridden in an arena at the walk, trot and canter and did very well. She was responsive to leg pressure, moved off when asked and seemed to enjoy the work. She was tested over some 2 ft. jumps and really likes the work. She's not a "fancy" jumper, but you can tell she likes her job when she's out there. She does get somewhat headstrong and excited before the jumps, so a rider that can regulate her enthusiasm is necessary. She was ridden in the mildest bit possible, so a stronger bit might help in the future. Though Autumn is sound, energetic and ready to ride, she will need some slow conditioning work to get back into jumping. She needs to rebuild some muscle after her time in the pasture. She should come along quickly with consistent work.

Autumn is not ready for retirement and still enjoys being ridden and jumped. She should still have some good years as a hunter at lower levels for an intermediate rider. She gets a bit excited before the jumps and likes to canter them and any rider will need to have enough experience to control her enthusiasm. She gets headstrong when jumping. She should be okay for an advanced beginner taking lessons on the flat, but for jumping, would need someone who can regulate her stride at the intermediate level. Autumn needs some slow conditioning work since she's been in the pasture for a while.

Experience level required to work with this horse: Advanced beginner on the ground and on the flat. For jumping, intermediate under saddle. Has not yet been tested on trails, arena only.

Has this horse ever:  Bucked? No. Reared? No. Kicked? No. Bitten? No. Other?

Ground handling: Catch? Yes. Lead? Yes. Tie? Yes. Trailer? Yes. Clip? Unknown. Trim Feet? Yes. Bathe? Yes.

Special needs: None known, but she is 18 and should be on senior feed.

Other comments: Overall, a very nice, well mannered horse who will make someone very happy!
