Temperament: Listens well, sweet and laid back personality.  New things are taken in stride.  Trusting of handlers and not spooky.  Calm and easy-going.

Interaction with horses: Allegra is young and accepts her position at the bottom of the herd.

Interaction with people: Understands that people are the source of food and will come to investigate if a little food or a treat is offered.  Great personality.  Likes to be scratched and groomed.  Has never shown any abhorrent behavior at all.

History: Allegra got tangled in wire or pasture debris and damaged her hock.  The breeder was going to shoot her rather than invest in her rehabilitation.

Training / abilities: Has not started training since she is still healing.  She should be easy to train since she has a willing and easy-going personality.  She can be easily led through various situations including over a tarp.

Physical problems / health issues: Allegra had tendon release surgery in December, 2007.  She had a bone scraping on this same leg in October, 2008 which went well and she should have a full recovery according to the vet.

Experience level required to work with this horse:  Beginner on the ground.

Has this horse ever:  Bucked? No Reared? No Kicked? No Bitten? No Other?

Ground handling: Catch? Yes Lead? Yes Tie? Yes Trailer? Yes Clip? Yes Trim Feet? Yes Bathe? Yes

Special needs: According to the vet, Allegra will be good for basic pleasure riding but can never be an event or working ranch horse due to the nature of her injury.  Her adopter must understand her limitations.
